Tax2000, founded in 1999 by Enrolled Agent and former auditor Sheri L. Atkins, is one of the largest single-owned tax companies in Western North Carolina, serving clients nationwide with virtual services. We focus on building lasting relationships based on trust, loyalty, and exceptional service.
Our team of experienced professionals specializes in all areas of tax and accounting, including individual and business taxation, audit representation, IRS tax debt relief, bookkeeping, and payroll services. Our Team
Sheri L. Atkins, E.A. – Sheri is the founder of Tax2000. She is a former auditor and Enrolled Agent with over 27 years of tax and accounting experience. She enjoys the continuous challenges of tax law and accounting application, which is why she is well known for her aggressive tactics when dealing with tax issues. She has a passion to help people even if they are in the stickiest of situations. Sheri states, “helping people and saving them money is what I’m good at and its what I love to do. It was always my passion, so I took the leap for what I loved.”
Sheri is one of those people you can’t help but like when you meet her. She is personable and understanding of every tax situation she is faced with. She has a strong faith that guides her in all areas of her life. Sheri and her husband, Richie Atkins, have three daughters and one son. They also have two poodles that are usually residing around Sheri at her desk while she works. In her spare time, Sheri loves spending time with her family and close friends.
M. Jade Hawkins, E.A.
Jade has been working in the tax and accounting field since 2006, accumulating over 11 years of experience in her field. She is an Enrolled Agent and also holds a B.A. in accounting from the University of North Carolina Asheville with a minor in Management. Jade provides oversight and guidance to the core operations of Tax2000 and sister company, Atkins & Associates. She is typically helping clients and employees, strategizing new business ideas/projects or acting as CFO for both organizations. She enjoys the push-and-pull relationship between business and accounting along with the practical guidance accounting provides.
When asked about working at Tax2000, she states, “It’s amazing working for a company that is client-focused. I get to give a little bit of relief to the people I help. I believe client interaction is the best source in knowing we provide quality services.”
When she’s not reading the latest business and accounting news, you’ll probably find her exploring beautiful beaches with her husband, Allen, and her son, Cole, or visiting family across the southern states.
B. Cheneil Bailey, Tax Planner, Business Consultant
Cheneil has been working in the tax and business field since 2004. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business with a minor in Finance from New England College of Business in Boston, MA. She has a passion for both business and taxation, and enjoys specifically dealing with small businesses.
Cheneil offers business consulting to business owners who are looking to save money at tax time and oversees business operations for Tax2000 Virtual. It is not uncommon to find Cheneil helping multiple people at one time grow their business, or simply giving them advice on how they can save money with their business taxes.
She enjoys taking on new challenges and helping people overcome hurdles with their overall finances.
When she's away from the office she loves to spend time with her husband and children traveling, or has her head in a book somewhere.
